GMAC Film has supported independent filmmakers since it was first formed as the Glasgow Film & Video Workshop in 1982. Over the years this support has taken many forms– providing a place to meet, screen films, learn skills and make films. GMAC Film is committed to providing resources and opportunities for
people of all ages and backgrounds to pursue their ambitions in film. In this way, we aim to challenge the inequality that exists in the world of film and tv, both on screen and off.
For over 25 years local filmmakers and film enthusiasts have come to watch locally made short films at GMAC Film’s monthly ‘open mic’ night for film, Café Flicker. You can find out more about Café Flicker and how to get your film screened here.
When funding permits, we also deliver funded training, production and CPD projects for the independent filmmaking community, responding to feedback from filmmakers and from industry.
